Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 191 – 6/24/2020

welcome, welcome to World Unity Water Day…. although today we celebrate a day of honoring and blessing water, everyday is truly a blessing water day, water is the innernet connecting us all, the more blessings of peace, love and harmony we pour into water, the more peaceful, loving and harmonious life is… thousandfold thanks for our joining hands across the cosmos in sacred honoring… thousandfold thanks, water, for giving us life and blessing our earth walks… standing before you, we re-member we are water, we are the ocean in a drop… may our one heart be purified more than ever before for the benefit of all as we drink you into our being and as water reciprocates in the next breath by blessing us and generously bestowing pure water spirits throughout the web of life… water is a mirror for us as well as perfectly mirroring us… water responds in perfect harmony to the messages we send; the more beautiful our transmission, the more beautifully water creates all that is...

In Praise of Water

Let us bless the grace of water:

The imagination of the primeval ocean
Where the first forms of life stirred
And emerged to dress the vacant earth
With warm quilts of color.

The well whose liquid root worked
Through the long night of clay,
Trusting ahead of itself openings
That would yet yield to its yearning
Until at last it arises in the desire of light
To discover the pure quiver of itself
Flowing crystal clear and free
Through delighted emptiness.

The courage of a river to continue belief
In the slow fall of ground,
Always falling farther
Toward the unseen ocean.

The river does what words would love,
Keeping its appearance
By insisting on disappearance;
Its only life surrendered
To the event of pilgrimage,
Carrying the origin to the end.

Seldom pushing or straining,
Keeping itself to itself
Everywhere all along its flow…

Let us bless the humility of water,
Always willing to take the shape
Of whatever otherness holds it,

The buoyancy of water
Stronger than the deadening,
Downward drag of gravity,
The innocence of water,
Flowing forth, without thought
Of what awaits it,
The refreshment of water,
Dissolving the crystals of thirst.

Water: voice of grief,
Cry of love,
In the flowing tear.

Water: vehicle and idiom
Of all the inner voyaging
That keeps us alive.

Blessed be water,
Our first mother.

we are all rainclouds…

water is life

blessed be…

way out/in the beyond

carried by the wings of love

heart breaks wide open

~

“There was a startling recognition that the nature of the universe was not as I had been taught… I not only saw the connectedness, I felt it.… I was overwhelmed with the sensation of physically and mentally extending out into the cosmos. I realized that this was a biological response of my brain attempting to reorganize and give meaning to information about the wonderful and awesome processes that I was privileged to view.”

~

in the quotation above, astronaut Edgar Mitchell shares an epiphany from outer space travel, a shift in consciousness that has been called the overview effect… after many days/moons/turns around the sun/incarnations of inner space exploration, traveling at the speed of light toward ultima thule, the great beyond, the overview effect is now living me and in this wondrous state, i feel i have crossed the rubicon and sit perched in a nest high in the heavens and deep in the buoyant sea with telescopic vision empowering a 360 degree view of the cosmic web in that field out beyond right and wrong doing where we float in grace, in sacred space in awe of true emptiness, the vast spaciousness of being free, a light wave of infinity, dancing rainbow mystery…

i’m taking a wellness week and attending to some polishing the mirror details of this cell… this afternoon i did get to fly all over the cosmos painting peace…

The Divine Spark Invocation to awaken the divine spark  and create a cosmos of peace and harmony within and without…

inhale: our whole being concentrates

exhale: the heartmind becomes empty and open

we invite divinity from earth

our true existence radiates light

we receive divinity from heaven

this divinity is within us

the divine opposites are unified

our true self emits divinity to all our relations

the light spreads to each relative

the divine self resonates within re-membering the divine self and that we are all divine…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 189 – 6/22/2020

today, on World Rainforest Day – a day encouraging action and awareness to protect the world’s rainforests – stop, take a breath, and reflect on our intimate relationship to the life-giving power of the Amazon rainforest and all that she provides for us as the lungs of the planet…

i love this image, even more, i love seeing pachamama as a rainforest showering us with breath, giving us life… so, let’s take this moment to feel pachamama  breathing us through our one heart flowing right into the stillpoint, our ground of being, oneness… in this sacred space, we open our hearts in rhythm with beloved’s flowing breath and feel the suffering of the cosmos and in the silence hear the whispers of what’s ours to do with our out breath…

i love this image, this metaphor returning to me on this day of pilgrimage when i’m re-membering the conception of the poetic peace pilgrimage over seven years ago as a daily breathing practice in rhythm with flow… i love this image, this metaphor returning on this day of pilgrimage when i awaken in wonder and awe of  great mystery and of bearing witness to the medicine of these cosmic lungs…

thank you, pachamama , for giving us these organs of breath, may we steward more and more response-ably and sustainably…

some invitations for stewarding lovingly:

Be grateful: To start with, action to protect the rainforests must begin now. Before we unmindfully cut trees to build our homes and offices, we need to take a deep breath and thank the rainforests for being the lungs of the planet. A real-eyes-ation of this might make us switch to more sustainable ways of development.

Contribute: We may also offer monetary and voluntary support and contribute to organisations that work to preserve the rainforests.

Eat a meat-free meal: Cattle farming contributes significantly to deforestation. Eating a meat-free meal can go a long way. We can start by going vegetarian for a day, week, month or a year.

Pass on palm oil: Rainforests are being cleared to expand palm plantations. Passing on palm oil and choosing products with alternate oils can be one small step that we can take on our part.

Spread the word: Creating awareness to preserve the forests can be one small act of kindness that we can show for the benefit of all.

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 188 – 6/21/2020

If you are seeking, seek us with joy
For we live in the kingdom of joy.
Do not give your heart to anything else
But to the love of those who are clear joy,
Do not stray into the neighborhood of despair.
For there are hopes: they are real, they exist…
I tell you: suns exist.

~ Rumi ~

some moments these words are easier to re-member than others and they are always true, paradoxical and true… the last few moons have been filled with challenges on so many levels and like ocean waves they rise and pass away and the ocean of joy still remains, peace at the center of the dancing stillpoint… for in this moment, this beautiful moment of celebrating the astonishing light of being, we are one vast sunflower field of radiant love… yes, suns exist and moons and rains and clouds and tears and pains and joy in this moment, in every moment, in every wild precious moment…

today i’m keeping it short and sweet

honoring a space of soulstice re-treat

happy trails to all ’til we meet again

on the pathless path that will never end…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 187 – 6/20/2020

When there is no more separation between “this” and “that”, it is called the still-point of Tao. At the still point in the center of the circle, one sees the infinite in all things.

~ Chuang Tzu ~

what a day with the sun beginning to shine on cancer and the moon new in cancer and a soular eclipse and it’s soulstice when we stand in stillness with brother sun, welcoming you smiling with folded hands,  honoring your radiance breathing through our one heart, greeting you as beloved and opening our heart to you…

on soustice, the veil between the worlds is so thinand it’s amplified today being in cancer and with the new moon also in this watery sign and soular eclipses magnify all blessings a thousand fold, such a magical day to see through the mists, to return to the isle of Avalon on a metaphorical journey of transformation on this day of the divine union between heaven and earth, masculine and feminine, electricity and magnetism… a sacred moment when divine feminine spirit, the great mother pours the luminous light of love all over the cosmos… may we all feel this fluid energy of light flowing, a loving compassion that frees us to enter the vast unknown, to dig deeply into the soil of our being finding hidden treasure…

how i love this day of re-membering life is a pilgrimage to the inner sun, sol, soul, the city of gold in the heart within the heart, sacred space of radiance holding the treasured wisdom of our true value and how we save the worlds…

~

A Prayer of Healing

We come together this Solstice under old oak trees, nurtured by the ground, the living green grass under our feet, to honor the longest/shortest day of the year. We see the pain of the Earth, the devastation of Her body. But today we celebrate Her. We say Prayers of Healing, for pachamama and for all Her children.

We join with the earth and with each other.
To celebrate the seas.
To rejoice the sunlight.
To sing the song of the stars.

We join with the earth and with each other.
To recall our destiny.
To renew our spirits.
To reinvigorate our bodies.

We join with the earth and with each other.
To create the human community.
To promote justice and peace.
To remember our children.

We join together as many and diverse expressions of one loving mystery: for the healing of the earth and the renewal of all life.We join with the earth and with each other.
To bring new life to the land.
To restore the waters.
To refresh the air.

We join with the earth and with each other.
To renew the forests.
To care for the plants.
To protect the creatures.

From the United Nations Environmental Sabbath

may we all stand still in great mystery in the silence of the heart…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 186 – 6/19/2020

Juneteenth 2020 We Mourn We Rise Up We Act

On June 19, 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was approved after surviving an 83-day filibuster in the United States Senate. Ninety-nine years earlier, on June 19, 1865, we celebrated the first African-American Emancipation Day, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States… Let us celebrate on this bittersweet day with the words of President Obama on June 19. 2016…

~

“Just outside the Oval Office hangs a painting depicting the night of December 31, 1862. In it, African-American men, women, and children crowd around a single pocket watch, waiting for the clock to strike midnight and the Emancipation Proclamation to take effect. As the slaves huddle anxiously in the dimly lit room, we can sense how even two more minutes seems like an eternity to wait for one’s freedom. But the slaves of Galveston, Texas, had to wait more than two years after Lincoln’s decree and two months after Appomattox to receive word that they were free at last.

Today we commemorate the anniversary of that delayed but welcome news. Decades of collective action would follow as equality and justice for African-Americans advanced slowly, frustratingly, gradually, on our nation’s journey toward a more perfect union. On this Juneteenth, we remember that struggle as we reflect on how far we’ve come as a country. The slaves of Galveston knew their freedom was only a first step, just as the bloodied foot soldiers who crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge 100 years later knew they had to keep marching.

Juneteenth is a time to recommit ourselves to the work that remains undone. We remember that even in the darkest hours, there is cause to hope for tomorrow’s light. Today, no matter our race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, we recommit ourselves to working to free modern-day slaves around the world and to honoring in our own time the efforts of those who fought so hard to steer our country truer to our highest ideals.”

~

here we stand in this moment, a mere four years later but it feels light years away as we witness and participate in the rising tide demanding that America be the land of the free, demanding that justice for all be the law of the land, demanding that we start funding life re-membering we belong to each other rather than living under the delusion that we are separate leading to funding death and destruction and domination…

i woke up this morning with this old spiritual singing me… “woke up this morning with my mind on freedom”… may we all wake up with our mind on freedom for all, speaking truth to power and raising hell unti we walk the talk of life, liberty and justice for all relatives…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 185 – 6/18/2020

“Empty yourself of everything.  Let the mind rest at peace.  The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.  They grow and flourish and then return to the Source.  Returning to the Source is stillness, which is the way of Nature.”  ~Lao Tsu, Tao Te Ching

~

today and the last eight days are such days, days of emptying everything and resting in the sacred space of the beyond, the galactic center, the cosmic womb, primordial space of birthing stars… feeling the pull of  the new moon in cancer, the moon of the great mother blessed with a soular eclipse, a ring of fire amplifying a thousand fold the blessings of this soulstice, this standing still withe sun, float with me into the dreamy frequency of coming home to the heart and listening, listening, listening for the soul song always singing us…

dreaming in the rhythm of the waves of mystery before us, behind us, beside us, below us, above us, within us, always enfolding us always unfolding us…

Peace to all beings
Whether near or far
Known or unknown
Real or imaginary
Visible or invisible
Born or yet to be born.
May all beings
Be well and happy
And free from fear.
Peace to all beings
Within and beyond the imagination
In the world of ideas
In the world of memories
And in the world of dreams.
May all beings
Be well and happy
And free from fear.
Peace in all elements
Of earth, air, fire and water
Fulfilled in space
Peace.
Peace in all universes
From the smallest cells in our bodies
To the greatest galaxies in space
Peace
And light rising
Peace to all beings
Within each being here
To those beings that have been in the past
And to those beings that are yet to be in the future
May all beings
Within each being here
Be well and happy
And free from fear.

take all i say,
and toss away
all that does not
resonate…
for we do not learn
wisdom and love…
we re-member what’s within…

deepest bows…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 184 – 6/17/2020

on this day ninety-two years ago, another first in flight took place when Amelia Earhart embarked on the first trans-Atlantic flight by a woman… flying from Newfoundland to Wales in about 21 hours, she captured and transformed our imagination forever… her legendary feats are the very emblem of courage — and of a woman who refused to let fears and adversity ground her dreams…  as we approach what some are calling the most potent day in this turn around the sun, soulstice, let’s take this moment to be inspired by her words to let our hearts soar just as this moment is calling us to deepen into mystery…

~

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.

Everyone has oceans to fly, if they have the heart to do it. Is it reckless? Maybe. But what do dreams know of boundaries?

No borders, just horizons – only freedom.

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace.”

yes, let us take courage, heart, great heart in this moment when the winds of change are collectively uplifting the cosmos into a shift for the ages emboldening all relatives to embrace the peace train conducting us into the freedom afforded by meeting and living in the present moment fully and tenderly as a friend…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 183 – 6/16/2020

This body is not me.

I am not limited by this body.

I am life without boundaries.

I have never been born,

and I have never died.

Look at the ocean and the sky filled with stars, manifestations from my wondrous true mind.

Since before time, I have been free.

Birth and death are only doors through which we pass, sacred thresholds on our journey.

Birth and death are a game of hide- and seek.

So laugh with me,

hold my hand,

let us say good-bye,

say good-bye, to meet again soon.

We meet today.

We will meet again tomorrow.

We will meet at the source every moment.

We meet each other in all forms of life.

~By Thich Nhat Hanh, Chanting and Recitations from Plum Village. Page 188.

welcome to this moment when the winds are perfect for contemplating the supreme meditation on death and re-birth… i love the rhythm that on this sixteenth day, the mantra i chanted daily in 2016 is coming to the fore beginning with my awakening in the sacred space of graceland, the consciousness of original blessing with death on our left shoulder, our constant companion inspiring us to meet each moment fully, to meet it as a friend…

what a blessing to rest here with you today as we walk each other home, sitting in the dynamic stillness of silence, the powerful place beyond words where we feel the interconnection, beloved communion of the one syncing into the interbeing of beginningless time as frequencies sounding vibrations of love, joy, compassion and harmony through the instrument of peace we be…

thank you for meeting me in the source, in the moment fully and tenderly…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 182 – 6/15/2020

along with the prayer of thank you, thank you, thank you, this prayer of saint francis, these intentions, are central to, are the organizing matrix of my life… on this day of beginning the 100 day countdown, well i didn’t quite make it as today is the 98th day, to the International Day of Peace on 9/21, this prayer picture needs sharing as does the theme…

every year on 21 September, the United Nations calls on all nations and people to put down their weapons and reaffirm their commitment to living in harmony with one another… this year’s theme of “Shaping Peace Together” reflects the clarity that we are not each other’s enemies, that we belong to each other and must work together as what happens in one part of the planet impacts all our relatives…

for the United Nations, 2020 was already meant to be a year of listening and learning. marking its 75th anniversary, the UN has invited millions of people worldwide to join UN75, the largest and furthest-reaching global conversation on building the peaceful and prosperous future that we want.

as we come together to meet the many challenges facing us, our voice is more important than ever… in these difficult times of physical distancing and shifting consciousness, this International Day of Peace is dedicated to fostering dialogue and collecting ideas on healing our planet and ourselves… we can always dream together…

let us celebrate “Shaping Peace Together” by spreading compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the pandemics of milatarism, materialism, racism, environmental disruption and health and standing together in unity for the benefit of all beginning in this moment with this breath… yes, let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me and thee…
