Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 211 – 7/14/2020

welcome to Bastille Day and Universal Harmony Day, perfect for celebrating our interbeing as vessels of great mystery shining forth luminously, bastions of living freely…

i’ll share now a brief meditation from Parker Palmer on life on the Möbius strip…

~

“The curious object pictured is a Möbius strip. If you take your index finger and trace what seems to be the outside surface, you suddenly find yourself on what seems to be the inside surface. Continue along what seems to be the inside surface, and you suddenly find yourself on what seems to be the outside surface.

I need to keep saying “what seems to be” because the Möbius strip has only one side! What look like its inner and outer surfaces flow into each other seamlessly, co-creating the whole. The first time I saw a Möbius strip, I thought, “Amazing! That’s exactly how life works!”

Whatever is inside of us continually flows outward, helping to form or deform the world — depending on what we send out. Whatever is outside us continually flows inward, helping to form or deform us — depending on how we take it in. Bit by bit, we and our world are endlessly re-made in this eternal inner-outer exchange.

Much depends on what we choose to put into the world from within ourselves — and much depends on how we handle what the world sends back to us. As Thomas Merton said:

“We don’t have to adjust to the world. We can adjust the world.”

Here’s the question I’ve been asking myself ever since I understood that we live our lives on the Möbius strip:

How can I make more life-giving choices about what to put into the world and how to deal with what the world sends back — choices that might bring new life to me, to others, and to the world we share?”

~

yes to there’s only one of us here, all that is confluing, flowing together, dancing into the stillpoint, dancing out from the stillpoint seamlessly always connected, always interbeing, always flowing in the seasky of love energy empowering luminosity and shining the light so brightly that all our relations see the way home, home to our one heart… and, yes, to the beautiful question that we are all being asked to live in this moment of great turning…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 210 – 7/13/2020

deep within our ancient bloodstream

may we listen for the lost chords’ echoes

of a mystical, ethereal consciousness

where we all swim in an ocean of flow

~

thank you river of life for teaching us that WAre The Eternal Radiance, that Water is Life, that water renews life and is the womb of the birth-death-rebirth cycle we are always flowing in… what a moon of baptism, a month of celebrating plunging into rainbow mystery, into the deeps of the ocean of being, the boundless spaciousness of the stillpoint where there’s only the dance…. and, we are in such re-joy-sing with the water protectors who have accomplished what was considered impossible – shutting down both the Atlantic Coast and Dakota Access Pipelines by listening to the inner call as to how to contribute to the continuance of the world – what a mighty contribution Standing Rock offers sacredly…

~

All meaningful change requires a genuine surrender. Yet, to surrender does not simply mean to give up; more to give up one’s usual self and allow something other to enter and redeem the lesser sense of self. In surrendering, we fall to the bottom of our arguments and seek to touch the origin of our lives again. Only then can we see as we were meant to see, from the depth of the psyche where the genius resides, where the seeds of wisdom and purpose were planted before we were born. We fall in order to find what has secretly carried us all along and would now become consciously known.

In genuine surrender, we arrive at a silent place, a still point within the turmoil of life; the place of baptism and renewal. Baptism is one of the oldest rituals of humanity, one that involves an immersion in the waters of life in order to revive the vitality of one’s being. Baptism requires a symbolic return to the watery womb of the world, a return to primordial origins in order to briefly dissolve the fixations of the personality and renew one’s spirit for life. Such an immersion requires a surrender that can feel like death. In a sense, part of us does die as we let go of our current form of “halfness” in order to feel whole. Baptism repeats the archetypal pattern of birth, death, and rebirth as a “little death” is needed for a greater rejuvenation and resurgence to occur…

Any meaningful descent can be felt by the soul as an attempt to renew oneself by touching the origins of life again. The ego fears that it will die or disappear in the waters of the deep unconscious. But the soul knows that any descent in life can become a potential baptism that will return us to the full potential at the origin of our lives—back there at the beginning; down there near the source, where the underlying unity of life waits to be found and be touched again…

Something ancient in us bends us toward the origins of the whole thing. We either drown in the splits and confusions of our lives, or we surrender to something greater than ourselves. The water of our deepest troubles is also the water of our own solution. In surrender, we descend down to the bottom of it and back to the beginning of it; down into what is divided in order to get back to the wholeness before the split, all healing seeks what alone can truly unify our spirit.”

~ Michael Meade, “The Genius Myth” ~

may we be baptized to live wholeheartedly as if this moment is the last in this incarnation… to love with wild abandon… to laugh from a deep well of joy…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 209/7 Years – 2400 Days – 7/12/2020

THE INNER IS FOUNDATION OF THE OUTER
THE STILL IS MASTER OF THE RESTLESS
THE SAGE TRAVELS ALL DAY
YET NEVER LEAVES HER INNER TREASURE.”

“Empty yourself of everything.  Let the mind rest at peace.  The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.  They grow and flourish and then return to the Source.  Returning to the Source is stillness, which is the way of Nature.”

~Lao Tsu, Tao Te Ching ~

~

on this day of celebrating the astonishing light of our being and honoring the call to come home to the silence of our one heart, i am re-treating in a dark dream cave where a peaceful stream flows… it is as if i’m in a float tank sans outer sensory stimulation… i re-member five decades ago experiencing a great awakening after real-eye-sing original sin is separation and almost immediately seeing a clear vision of true reality as the original blessing of oneness…

five years ago on this very day, i am in a parallel rhythm metaphorically floating in the dark in a flotation tank where i begin a lucid cycling journey following behind on my bike the divine child named bliss and her father on their bicycles… i carry my singing bowl in one of my arms and i come to a space where i must stop… here, i begin a wondrous journey exploring open heart u, a dream i’ve been incubating many moons… how much fun to wander these grounds. to meet people who are drawn to be in beloved community, a sangha of the one heart of boundless love where i connect with so many other dog star offspring here on planet in this moment to guide in the opening of inner vision, intuition, to truly serve as seeing eye dogs guiding the way along the pathless path…

it is done, blessed be, we are on our way to living freely…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 208 – 7/11/2020

we are a pilgrim people, poets on a journey, a caravan of re-joy-sing, a journeying peace corps, with a deep abiding peace solid in our core, peace built with poetic justice guided by love, a love more powerful than any other force, a love that flows directly from source… so, let us come together, pilgrims of peace, to create beloved community, by being love with every breath, to create a world where all our relations experience heaven on earth, with everyone in the circle of love, flowing in rhythm like the angels above, dancing arm in arm under our central sun, singing the truth that we are one… yes, singing the truth that we are won… a cosmos of care and compassion woven intricately and interconnectedly together with each thread knowing we belong to each other…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 207 – 7/10/2020

in this moonth of coming home to the core, what better moment for us to gather together in peaceful communion for a continuous wave of lovingkindness and compassion…

let’s start by connecting in the heart with everyone radiating love and appreciation to each other… practicing such core heart qualities of love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, patience and listening to our one heart’s invitations builds resilience and balance , states we need to increase in these turbulent times…

center in the heart and breathe the feeling of appreciation and care for yourself and others activating our coming home to our one heart energy…

imagine with each breath your mind, emotions and body are still inside which helps focus energy…

visualize and build a commitment to a daily practices of vibrating core heart qualities of care, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, patience, stillness, generosity, appreciation and on and on which increases inner balance and resilience necessary for reducing and preventing stress…

now, radiate unconditional love and compassion and see this energy uplifting the vibration of the global energetic eco-field…

visualize all our relations increasingly real-eye-sing the world is calling for us to accept our differences and to collaborate with our collective wisdom to resolve challenges and co-create a thriving cosmos…

let’s close by radiating our unconditional love and deepest compassion to all who are experiencing fear, suffering or hardship through these changing times…

thank you for being a vast infinite cosmic peace wave

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 206 – 7/9/2020

Inner silence works from the moment you begin to accrue it. What the old sorcerers were after was the final dramatic, end result of reaching that individual threshold of silence. Some very talented practitioners need only a few minutes of silence to reach that coveted goal. Others, less talented, need long periods of silence, perhaps more than one hour of quietude, before they reach the desired result. The desired result is what the old sorcerers called “stopping the world”, the moment when everything around us ceases to be what it’s always been. This is the moment when sorcerers return to the TRUE nature of man. The old sorcerers always called it “total freedom”
Don Juan (Carlos Castanada)

in this moon and ongoing liminal space of going within for truth, of dwelling in an upended world, i see, hear, feel, be and live more and more in graceland, in the sacred space beyond words, in the joyous radiance of the silent heart overflowing with compassion…

~

The world… has forgotten the joys of silence, the peace of solitude which is necessary, to some extent, for the fullness of human living.  Not all…  are called to be hermits, but all…  need enough silence and solitude in their lives to enable the deep inner voice of their own true self to be heard at least occasionally.  When that inner voice is not heard, when man cannot attain to the spiritual peace that comes from being perfectly at one with his own true self, his life is always miserable and exhausting.  For he cannot go on happily for long unless he is in contact with the springs of spiritual life which are hidden in the depths of his own soul.  If man is constantly exiled from his own home, locked out of his own spiritual solitude, he ceases to be a true person…  He becomes a kind of automaton, living without joy because he has lost his spontaneity.  He is no longer moved from within, but only from outside himself.

Thomas Merton ~

may we all be hollow reeds in this moment of great turning, attuned to the cosmic hum with the divine music of the spheres playing through each cell of the one body as an instrument of peace, love, joy, harmony, wisdom, compassion and grace…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 205 – 7/8/2020

Our world and our lives have become increasingly interdependent, so when our neighbour is harmed, it affects us too. Therefore we have to abandon outdated notions of “them” and “us” and think of our world much more in terms of a great “US”, a greater human family.

~ Dalai Lama ~

there have been many versions over the last century of a declaration of interdependence offered by different people and organizations… this affirmation  written by Melanie Bacon is perfect for every day…

We hold these truths to be self-evident:

That all life is interconnected, and endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights and responsibilities,

That among these are presence, compassion, and the pursuit of happiness.
That to secure these rights and responsibilities,

We open our minds and hearts to the needs of others, and our own true needs,

We hear the sound of the living universe in our ears, and add our voices to the song,

We live every moment with awareness of the purity and power of existence.

And for the support of this Declaration, we pledge to each other our love and our breath,

For the freedom of the one is the freedom of the all, and the pain of the one is the pain of the all;

The breath of the one is the breath of the all, and the breath of the all is the breath of God.

~

today, i re-member back to undergraduate days in the late sixties and early seventies when life was a running consciousness conversation with interdependence as one of our favorite musings… we were feeling the energy of oneness and interconnection, of ubuntu, a term appearing in South African sources back in the mid-nineteenth century…

i love the beautifully illustrative story of the anthropologist proposing a game to some children in an African tribe where he puts a basket of fruit near a tree telling them whoever gets there first wins the sweet fruits… so, he gives the signal to run and they all take each others hands and run together and then sit in a circle enjoying the treats… when questioned as to why they chose to run as a group, out of the mouths of babes poured wisdom… ubuntu, how can one of us be happy if all the rest are sad?

may we all live ubuntu… I AM because WE ARE… and, may we affirm our dedication to cosmic stewardship of a world of peace built on justice for all guided by unconditional love for all our relations real-eye-sing there’s only one of us here and we depend on each other to interbe

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 204 – 7/7/2020

Happy Global Wave of Harmony, Joy, Peace and Love!

yes! it’s 7/7, Ringo’s 80th birthday, may we all take this moment to SMILE (Start My Internal Love Engine) and be harmony, joy, peace and love for all there is, is love and our being these vibrations creates this more beautiful world…

and, yes, dear Rumi, i awaken today hearing that voice calling me, that voice that has called me for so many moons, for so many turns around the sun to turn toward what i deeply love for that will save me/us…

how i love this this seventh day of the seventh month of joyvolution july as 7 is a number of spirit vibrating at a frequency of receptivity, intuition and the divine feminine… energies pulling us magnetically inside to mine the jewels lodged in the deep cavernous space in the ground of being… our being at the halfway mark of this massively mutating turn around the sun recapitulating journeying january, the dreaming moon,  with july being the re-treating into ourselves moon, another space of pregnant pause to explore inner terrain and listen for the voice of the great mother whispering words of wisdom, mothering the peace that passeth ordinary understanding, the peace that births a courageous new world of radical harmony and joy and peace and love and generosity …

how we need these whispered words of wisdom now at this moment of a perfect storm of crises with the root root crisis being psychospiritual cataly-sing a radical transformation into wholeness, mystical union of soulful maturity and spiritual awareness…

yes, we are the ones we have been waiting for to transmute the emergency into an emergensea of love energy, to align with, to partner with the energy of love and find again the creative power of fire to light the cosmos, the all that is in overflowing golden light…

may we all bathe in the luminescence and breathe in the light and breathe out love and peace in ever widening circles of rhythmic waves across the cosmos into the great beyond and into the (w)hole(y) well in the center of our being…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 203 – 7/6/2020

i love this picture of the Dalai Lama as a child and i love taking the occasion of his 85th birthday to celebrate his powerful planetary presence with a few of his inspiring words…

~

“Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”

May I be a guard for those who need protection

A guide for those on the path

A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood

May I be a lamp in the darkness

A resting place for the weary

A healing medicine for all who are sick

A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles

And for the boundless multitudes of living beings

May I bring sustenance and awakening

Enduring like the earth and sky

Until all beings are freed from sorrow

And all are awakened.

(prayed every morning by HH)

“Inner peace is the key: if you have inner peace, the external problems do not affect your deep sense of peace and tranquility…without this inner peace, no matter how comfortable your life is materially, you may still be worried, disturbed, or unhappy because of circumstances.

I have found that the greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It is the ultimate source of success in life.”

~

may we all breathe in his blessings of gratitude, compassion and service deeply through our one heart… i’d like to close with a few more words from His Holiness, words he said as he was leaving Portalandia following an Earth Summit back in 2013…

~

“I’m always mentioning that mentally, emotionally and physically we are the same human being. So the potential which I have and that I use – you also have that same potential. You must realize that potential and utilize that potential as much as you can. Then you will be a happy person and live a meaningful life.”

~

Happy Birthday! May you continue to live for a very long time being compassionate presence and may we give you what you said would be the best birthday gift –  to practice your three commitments of wherever we are creating an atmosphere of compassion, a society of compassion; of being harmony and of sharing the ancient and useful Tibetan knowledge of Nalanda …

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 202 – 7/5/2020

“When we strive to make our lives, every thought, word and action, a living Wopida, we are given a great spiritual gift. For whenever our soul and the inmost chambers of our heart are filled with thanksgiving and gratitude it also naturally becomes filled with compassion, love, understanding, forgiveness, joy, happiness and oneness. When our lives are centered in this State of Consciousness, there is no room left for the experience of fear, hate, prejudice, revenge, jealousy, loneliness and disunity. There is no room for anything that separates ourselves and our oneness with our Beloved Creator, our Human Family and all Life, seen and unseen.” – Hereditary Chief, Phil Lane Jr.

~

well come to the day of celebrating the astonishing light of our being on the heels of acknowledging the USA’s 244th birthday a day i like to celebrate as interdependence day, a day which we are more aware than ever our cosmos needs to live everyday to heal the turbulence of war, famine, homelessness, climate destruction and unprecedented inequality, inequity and injustice… it is incumbent on all our relations to re-member the road to liberation, the path of liberty and justice for all is the way of interdependence, of real-eye-sing we ar :e one… here now the 1992 Declaration of Interdependence delivered at the Earth Summit in Rio:

THIS WE KNOW

We are the earth, through the plants and animals that nourish us.
We are the rains and the oceans that flow through our veins.
We are the breath of the forests of the land, and the plants of the sea.
We are human animals, related to all other life as descendants of the firstborn cell.
We share with these kin a common history, written in our genes.
We share a common present, filled with uncertainty.
And we share a common future, as yet untold.
We humans are but one of thirty million species weaving the thin layer of life enveloping the world.
The stability of communities of living things depends upon this diversity.
Linked in that web, we are interconnected — using, cleansing, sharing and replenishing the fundamental elements of life.
Our home, planet Earth, is finite; all life shares its resources and the energy from the sun, and therefore has limits to growth.
For the first time, we have touched those limits.
When we compromise the air, the water, the soil and the variety of life, we steal from the endless future to serve the fleeting present.

THIS WE BELIEVE

Humans have become so numerous and our tools so powerful that we have driven fellow creatures to extinction, dammed the great rivers, torn down ancient forests, poisoned the earth, rain and wind, and ripped holes in the sky.
Our science has brought pain as well as joy; our comfort is paid for by the suffering of millions.
We are learning from our mistakes, we are mourning our vanished kin, and we now build a new politics of hope.
We respect and uphold the absolute need for clean air, water and soil.
We see that economic activities that benefit the few while shrinking the inheritance of many are wrong.
And since environmental degradation erodes biological capital forever, full ecological and social cost must enter all equations of development.
We are one brief generation in the long march of time; the future is not ours to erase.
So where knowledge is limited, we will remember all those who will walk after us, and err on the side of caution.

THIS WE RESOLVE

All this that we know and believe must now become the foundation of the way we live.
At this turning point in our relationship with Earth, we work for an evolution: from dominance to partnership; from fragmentation to connection; from insecurity, to interdependence.

~

in each and every sacred moment, may we reverence the mystery of cosmic flow and be fully present to whatever may come and go trusting in the web of infinite, interconnected threads woven by creatrix, source of all that is…
