Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 231 – 8/3/2020

what a lovely celebration today is of lunar lammas complete with a full moon in aquarius and the gift of reveling in the soular harvest when the cycle of life invites our contemplating our blessings, reaping the harvest by seeing the big picture both cosmically and in the ground of being – what are you harvesting? what has the garden you are grown this year?

in this sacred gathering moment in the heart field with daylight hours waning dramatically in the northern hemispere and the earth more and more empatically asking us to slow down and shelter in, i love going within, pausing and listening to the cosmic hum, the music of the one animating spirit flowing through you, flowing through me, flowing through all our relations asking us to come home to inner author-ity…

in ancient power with and within times, the king willingly sacrifices himself for the good of the people at this harvest festival which was offered to the invisible realms… today, we tend to forget that it is the masculine principle that continuously needs renewing while the divine feminine, the ground of life, renews automatically… this forgetting that the masculine energy must die cyclically like the caterpillar to birth the new leads to an out of balance culture…

this full moon in aquarius with the energy of freedom lends us to contemplating and re-membering who we truly are and what is our response-ability in this pivotal moment, what needs overthrowing, throwing out because it imprisons us?

let’s perfume this moment with the sabian symbol for this moment… a golden dragon circles the tree of life guarding the single golden apple of divine love… yes, we can all re-member who we are…

reflecting on the harvest brings me right onto the pathless path, the path where we die before we die… dying to fixed ideas of the limited self, the protective self so that we can awaken in awe to whom we truly are…

looking through poetic eyes, metaphorical eyes, we witness a pregnant lioness on a high hill looking for food for the cub growing inside… she spies a flock of sheep and leaps down, down, down dying on impact with the blow of the landing… the baby cub is raised by the sheep and lives as a sheep until one day a lion approaches the flock heading straight for the young lion sheep who’s sure the end is nigh… the older lion carries the one who thinks she’s a sheep to a crystal clear lake and when the sheep lion sees her reflection, she roars in awe, awakening to whom she really is, a being of limitless courage, limitless heart who’s here on an ensouled sacred mission…

may the blessings of the harvest fill the holy vessels we are with courage and compassion…

blissings!

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 230 – 8/2/2020

aloha to the almost full moon in aquarius on this day we celebrate the astonishing light of our being and on this day in the northern hemisphere of celebrating soular harvest, lammas, the celtic festival of lughnasadh honoring the great sun king, the god of light as well as the queen mother of the grain and earth and their union that creates the seeds of all life and brings forth the harvest signifying the continual circle of life and the eventual surrender to the source of light…

may we celebrate the feasting and grace that the source of all life provides to sustain all cosmic hearts and hands…

may we appreciate the great gift the cosmos bestows on us during lammas – the union of Venus and Mars and a new energy of relationship emerges flowing through the divine feminine and birthing a wise feminine energy so needed in this moment…

may the wisdom of the divine feminine re-awaken original blessing reality – revealing we are the ones we’ve been waiting for to mutate into/back to original sacred instructions, the mystical law that we are one and we can trust in the power of the sacred self, the soul to transform… blessed be!

inspired by the astonishing light of our being, let’s take this moment, this wild and precious moment to leap with faith into the mystical world beyond the five senses and reason and conditional love and judgement into the tiny space of the heart, vast spaciousness of the all that is where there are no words or language to encompass the astonishing lightness of being… deep bows, co-hearts…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 229 – 8/1/2020

i put down roots today deep, deep down into the earth to listen for the naming of this moonth… i was going back and forth and finally settled on apocalyptic august reclaiming the original meaning of the word as revelatory and may it be so… may truth be unveiled, may we slow down into the albedo stage of alchemy with the main focus being inward and rooting ourselves deeply into the taproot, the source of the tree of life…

today as we honor this new beginning, let’s open our real eyes – our eyes of wonder and awe –  seeing everything as if for the first time and meander over to Mr Roger’s neighborhood for some of his sacred instructions, lessons that so perfectly mirror the sage words of perennial wisdom…

It’s okay to feel whatever it is that we feel

But our feelings aren’t an excuse for bad behavior

Other people are different from us—and just as complex as we are

It’s our responsibility to care for the most vulnerable

We can work to make a difference right where we are

It’s important to make time to care for ourselves

We are neighbors

may we all be caring neighbors for each other and may the wisdom of the divine feminine reveal and re-awaken original blessing reality – blessed be!

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 228 – 7/31/2020

thank you for this day of love, peace, harmony, generosity, mystery, wonder and joy…

joy in the morning, joy in the kindness of friends, joy in seeing the beauty of the moment, the beauty of every moment… thank you for the gift of flowing energy meeting this moment with courage and compassion real-eye-sing we are beloved community knitted together in an ever expanding tapestry delicately woven with a thousand thousandfold threads of luminous light dancing in the quantum field out beyond…

on the trail of pollen
may we walk
with love in our one heart may we walk
with  love before us may we walk

with love above us may we walk
with love all around us may we
walk
wandering on a trail of
love, may we walk
beginning in love
deepening in love

always being and becoming love…

in this moment of pregnant pause, i see us standing still and simultaneously moving at the speed of light on a high dune dedicated to free flight and deep dives into blessing this belonging space we share… this, on the brink of a new world, space where we real-eyes once again the ancient knowing of there is no separation… this stillpoint at the center of our circle, the hub of the wheel where all that is, is still, where everything is oh so real, where the peace that passeth all understanding is palpable calling us into deep silence…. listen, listen to the cosmic hum… listen, listen to our heartbeat’s drum… listen, listen for the sound of the bell syncing our breathing to the mantra of all is well… deep peace of the running wave to you, deep peace, deep peace, deep peace…

may we all awaken to the beauty we are… one cosmos, one web, one tribe, one family, one being, one ocean, one love, one…

thousandfold thanks for sharing this journey along the buen camino, the rainbow trail, for coming home to our one heart flowing in rhythm with mystery, dancing and singing in harmony and shining the light of divine love so brightly…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 227 – 7/30/2020

honoring John Lewis with his words encouraging us that we can redeem the soul of our nation….

“While my time here has now come to an end, I want you to know that in the last days and hours of my life you inspired me. You filled me with hope about the next chapter of the great American story when you used your power to make a difference in our society. Millions of people motivated simply by human compassion laid down the burdens of division. Around the country and the world you set aside race, class, age, language and nationality to demand respect for human dignity.

That is why I had to visit Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington, though I was admitted to the hospital the following day. I just had to see and feel it for myself that, after many years of silent witness, the truth is still marching on.

Emmett Till was my George Floyd. He was my Rayshard Brooks, Sandra Bland and Breonna Taylor. He was 14 when he was killed, and I was only 15 years old at the time. I will never ever forget the moment when it became so clear that he could easily have been me. In those days, fear constrained us like an imaginary prison, and troubling thoughts of potential brutality committed for no understandable reason were the bars.

…Like so many young people today, I was searching for a way out, or some might say a way in, and then I heard the voice of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on an old radio. He was talking about the philosophy and discipline of nonviolence. He said we are all complicit when we tolerate injustice. He said it is not enough to say it will get better by and by. He said each of us has a moral obligation to stand up, speak up and speak out. When you see something that is not right, you must say something. You must do something. Democracy is not a state. It is an act, and each generation must do its part to help build what we called the Beloved Community, a nation and world society at peace with itself.

Ordinary people with extraordinary vision can redeem the soul of America by getting in what I call good trouble, necessary trouble. Voting and participating in the democratic process are key. The vote is the most powerful nonviolent change agent you have in a democratic society. You must use it because it is not guaranteed. You can lose it.

You must also study and learn the lessons of history because humanity has been involved in this soul-wrenching, existential struggle for a very long time. People on every continent have stood in your shoes, through decades and centuries before you. The truth does not change, and that is why the answers worked out long ago can help you find solutions to the challenges of our time. Continue to build union between movements stretching across the globe because we must put away our willingness to profit from the exploitation of others.

Though I may not be here with you, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe. In my life I have done all I can to demonstrate that the way of peace, the way of love and nonviolence is the more excellent way. Now it is your turn to let freedom ring.

When historians pick up their pens to write the story of the 21st century, let them say that it was your generation who laid down the heavy burdens of hate at last and that peace finally triumphed over violence, aggression and war. So I say to you, walk with the wind, brothers and sisters, and let the spirit of peace and the power of everlasting love be your guide.”

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 226 – 7/29/2020

i began this julian calendar turn around the sun writing a letter to a young peace activist  a la rilke with the encouragement to live the quest ions; today in the midst of such an intense chaos cycle, such a planetary initiation where we are still in the liminal phase, the betwixt and between transitional space going on for so many moons, i want to share some more encouragement for this bewildering/be-wilder-ment moment…

today, i’m re-membering that a year ago on this very day a metaphorical dam broke and i’m flooded with a tsunami, a tsunami i’ve dreamed of so many times and have experienced so many times in this last wild turn around the sun…

how easy it is to tense up and recoil, to panic in the face of what feels like losing balance, losing control, the”end of the world” and yes it is and the opening of a new world, a world of being surrendered into spirit, flowing in harmony with source…

take heart… we are made for these times…

i invite all of us to please not overwhelm our spirit dry by only bewailing these difficult times and losing hope… we are the ones we are waiting for and have been in training for this moment since we arrived here…

in addition to our doubt, frustrations and confusion right now, we are abounding with resources, we are not alone… over and over again, we are the living proof that what has been exiled, lost, or foundered can be regenerated… though we meet resistance, we more so will meet great souls who will hail us, love us and guide us…

to help calm the storm is to hold the tension of the opposites, pick up our thread of the web of life and practice devotedly acting in small ways to serve all our relatives…

thank you for being peace…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 225 – 7/28/2020

Thus shall ye think of this fleeting world: A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream; A flash of lightning in a summer cloud; A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.
~Diamond Sutra~

a day of rest just what the doctor ordered and more importantly, what the soul ordered… a day of turbulence just what the doctor ordered and more importantly, what the soul ordered? really? i have to ride wild waves filled with stinging jellyfish? yes, this too, this experience calling me deeper and deeper into the breath, into empty presence, the spaciousness of openheartedness… like the ocean, all is moving and transforming from wave to wave, breath to breath… like the moon, we cycle again and again through phases, always changing from moment to moment…

diving deeper and deeper into the wondering, we enter the stillpoint trusting the center will hold even in a world that presently so belies that trust…. so very critical to breathe into the center and surrender to great mother who cradles us like a newborn while we rock gently back and forth feeling the support of the ocean of love, home to grandmother who loves us so…

ah, i’m smiling at and with this world that is always turning, this world where the constant is change, always love remains… love is all there is…

aho!

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 224 – 7/27/2020

…And this was my true task, to be the
music of the body.  Do you understand? for truly the body needs
a song, a spirit, a soul.  And no less, to make this work,
the soul has need of a body,
and I am both of the earth and I am of the inexplicable
beauty of heaven
where I fly so easily, so welcome, yes,
and this is why I have been sent, to teach this to your heart.”
~ Mary Oliver ~

i thought today might be the day for the tribute to the civil rights titans who died two weeks ago but my soul has a different message and/or the same message that’s so emphatically whispered every day…

the message from grandmother spider of we must each pick up our thread and very intentionally weave a more beautiful tapestry than the fraying, tattered one we have lived under for so many thousands of moons… that tapestry of imbalance, power over, exploitation, injustice, death and destruction of the living earth system we are…

in this critical moment of transition, earthmother is signaling us in ever intense and frequent ways that we must change our ways or there will be fatal consequences for the human species…

a critical moment in addition to being a dangerous moment is also an opportune moment and if i understand the overarching message of whole systems, the open space of such a moment when everything is breaking down and unstable affords small actions the opportunity to have a much greater impact…

the mission of our time is to intentionally navigate this uncertain journey embracing a paradigm of being whole systems beings real-eye-sing how interconnected and interdependent we are and who we truly are as human whole systems beings – people of cooperation and caring and sharing who derive the greatest fulfillment from serving all relatives in life-giving ways…

it is not an easy mission and it is one we are made for… let us take full advantage of this time of sheltering in, of transmuting in the chrysalis to die to the consumptive, competitive, exploitative way of the caterpillar and be the transfigured imaginal cell known as a butterfly here to create and maintain beauty….

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 223 – 7/26/2020

well come to the first day of a new turn around the sun falling appropriately on our day of celebrating the astonishing light of being… as such a momentous day calls for, i luxuriate in every sacred moment all one and circling with wise elders of all ages… re-membering the words of the Dalai Lama about our island home desperately needing more peacemakers, healers, restorers, lovers and storytellers which reminds me of an old legend of the first peoples of this land…

a legend about a savior named deganawida, the peacemaker, originating over a thousand years ago during the final decades of pre-columbian america at a time like now, a time of pervasive fear and instability in the iroquois world when a young virgin gave birth to a son… she was told in a dream that “your child will be a messenger of the creator and will bring peace and harmony to the people on earth.”

when deganawida came of age he told his mother, “I shall now build my canoe from white stone, for the time has come for me to start my mission in this world. I know I must travel afar on lakes and rivers to seek out the council smoke of nations beyond this lake. It is now time for me to go stop the shedding of blood among human beings.”

as deganawida began his mission he first encountered a group of hunters who were fleeing from the bloodshed in the their own village and he instructed them: “Go back to your people and tell them that the Good News of Peace and Righteousness has come to your nation.”

the peacemaker’s mission, as the many accounts of the legend make clear, was to reestablish the natural equilibrium on which the well being of individuals, societies, and the whole of creation depends… deganawida achieved this mission by healing them—by “making their minds straight.” deganawida’s role was not that of a warrior, but a redemptive shaman—a healer… he was quite explicit about the mission: “health means peace, for that is what comes when minds are sane and bodies are cared for.”

the peacemaker had the former warriors uproot a great white pine under which left a gaping hole.  The 50 chiefs and warriors threw their weapons of war under the Great Tree of Peace where an underground stream carried the weapons away (which is the origin of the phrase “bury the hatchet”) and the tree was lifted back upright… the peacemaker said the chiefs would now stand on the earth like trees, deeply rooted in the land, with strong trunks, all the same height (having equal authority) as they protected their people with wise leadership of the Good Mind–not physical force and on top of the tree sits an eagle serving as an ever vigilant protector of peace…

the tree of peace shows how peace grows when nurtured… like a tall tree, peace provides protection and comfort…  like a pine tree, peace spreads its branches to create a place of sanctuary where we gather and renew ourselves… like the white pine, peace also creates large roots (tsyoktehækęætaˀkona) rising out of the ground so people can trace their journey to the source…

may we all listen to the message of peace and be peacemakers every moment…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 222 – 7/25/2020

“My work has harvested souls, a great achievement for humankind, for all of us who believe that things in the world can be better, if we attempt at every moment to do things well: to show respect, to value what has little value today, to feel proud of our identity, to defend our traditions, to defend our traditional medicine, to love and respect our elders and listen to them with great attention, to teach children to live with respect, peace, and love. The mission of all human beings who achieve consciousness is to take care of themselves and Mother Earth.”

~ Julieta Casimiro Estrada~

~

according to the galactic calendar, today, july 25 is the day out of time, the day before we start a new year, a day vibrating at the frequency of universal love… it’s also the day two years ago that i heard of the death of Abuela (Grandmother) Julieta who actually passed over on july 23,  the day of Ajpu, which is the energy of the warrior… at the time of her closing her eyes for the last time, it was a moment in which that energy was at its highest, midday…

i love celebrating this day of timelessness and the wisdom of the grandmothers together so i begin the day with another abuela and then take off to be with grandmother ocean… i carry a prayer of Grandmother Julieta with me and invite you to let her prayer below sing through you as well…

“All of us here want the same thing. We want to walk in peace, and we want no more war. We don’t need war. All the suffering and pain that is going on in the world, especially of little children and elders, really hurts me inside. Our Mother Earth is hurting. They are destroying our Mother Earth. They are destroying our Mother. They need to have respect for Her. We need to walk with respect, especially during these times we are living in now.  I pray hard all this time for this to change.”

love and light, for this we pray… please add in your intentions for our cosm… the things you love, the things that break your heart wide open, those things the still small voice whispers for us to be… in balance, service, joy, respect, harmony, peace and openhearted presence…
