Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 77 – 3/2/2020

“I will give you a talisman. Recall the face of the poorest and weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him. Will he gain anything by it? Will it restore him to a control over his own life and destiny? Will it lead to swaraj [freedom] for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and yourself melting away.”

 ~ Mahatma Gandhi ~

welcome, welcome to day 33 of a season of peace and as we muse and walk the path of heart ever deeper into peace, i carry this talisman as quest, living the questions

as we travel in an awakened way…

may our hearts burst open in unconditional love

may our minds be illumined by a peace passing all understanding

may our bodies be flooded with central sun’s light

may our spirits soar with radiant presence

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 74 – 2/28/2020

blessing the space between us

as we journey into mystery

the pilgrimage to our one heart

~

how I love meeting you daily in the quantum field, the flowering field where love is all there is and where we celebrate a season of peace for…

This is the bright home
in which I live,
this is where
I ask
my friends
to come,
this is where I want
to love all the things
it has taken me so long
to learn to love.

This is the temple
of my adult aloneness
and I belong
to that aloneness
as I belong to my life.

There is no house
like the house of belonging.

~ David Whyte ~

thank you for walking home with me… this moon as in month also brings an especially touching poignancy to the space between us as this journey into mystery, this pilgrimage into the tiny space of our one heart, the void, the sacred space of emptiness is such a deep dive into the stillpoint of creation…

surrendering to the beloved and trusting in the tenemos of great mother to support and nourish us, we summon the courage to leap into the unknown and relax into the organic, rhythmic flow of the mysterious dance of life…

holding hands in the dark, feeling the waves of our one beating heart, we witness the birth of the new, the promise of every inbreath followed by the re-joy-sing of every outbreath… for in our coming together in the sacred space of our cosmic heart, we change everything, we are transformation dancing to the tune of el canto hondo, the deep soul song… stillness flowing, singing, re-joy-sing… be love, be loved…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 70 – 2/24/2020

welcome, welcome to day 26 of a season of peace on this twenty-fourth day of the flowering field of february and today with the support of Ram Dass, let’s meditate on pure mind …

~

I have the intention to become free and I’m using everything in my life to do it. At first you just have practices like meditation or prayer. And then you go to work, or you do your stuff, or whatever. And after a while all of it becomes your practice, every bit of it. You tell me something that can’t be practiced. Tell me something that you can’t convert into becoming one with spirit.

So you keep working on yourself to cultivate the Witness, which becomes, in your way, a gift to everybody around you. Because they come in thinking they’re somebody, just like you do most of the time. And you’re creating an environment where they can if they want to, but they don’t have to.

So intention to awaken, finding the part of your mind that is not caught. Even though immediately after you’ve noticed it gets caught and then you come back again. The predicament is the clinging of mind. The predicament is that awareness clings to thought. I’ll just read you the first paragraph of “Extracting the Quintessence of Accomplishment.” And it comes from Dudjom Rinpoche who was an extraordinarily beautiful Tibetan Lama who passed on a few years ago I guess.

“The nature of our mind. The nature of our mind is the nature of absolute reality.” Try to think of it now as the sky as opposed to the clouds. “Divested of all conditional and artificial characteristics fabricated by the intellect. This nature, this mind, is established with certainty in awareness. Awareness arises, naked, as the self-originated primordial wisdom. It just is. This awareness cannot be expressed in words, nor shown by examples. It is neither corrupted in samsara nor improved in nirvana. It is neither born nor ceases to be. It is neither liberated nor confused. It is neither existent nor nonexistent. It is neither delimited nor falling to either side. In brief, from the beginning, awareness has never existed as a substantial entity with elaborated characteristics. Its nature is primarily pure, void, vast, and all pervasive.”

Now take the stages. You’re caught in experience. Then you cultivate the Witness, which is that little part of your mind that sees the rest of it. After a while the witness gets stronger and stronger and stronger until most of the time you are “Ah, so.” And even though the dramas of desires, fears, aging, life, crisis, are all coming and going, coming and going, they’re all undulating within you, there’s a part of you that is strong, that is clear, that is saying, “Ah, so.” And then, in this particular technique, you become aware of that in you which is saying, “Ah, so.”

And you go through, into pure mind. Which is neither the witness, nor not the witness. It is neither the experience, nor not the experience. It’s not looking, but it knows everything because it is everything. I am describing to you a very disciplined technique of using the mind to beat the mind. Stand back from experience into the witness, not denying the experience, this isn’t dissociation, this isn’t a defense mechanism. Stand back so that you’re feeling the pain of it all and at the same moment, seeing it. And when you’re resting in the awareness, the seeing of it broadly, then you start to note the seer. The witness.

And there’s a flick that occurs. And no longer are you experiencing the universe, the universe just is. It includes you but it’s nothing special. It’s really the process of dying as a separate entity into pure mind. And the moment you do that, a moment later you’re fully there as a separate entity but you’re also not there as a separate entity. It’s all there all at once. You’re a star and you’re also the heavens.

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 314 – 10/26/2019

it’s the eve of the new moon in scorpio, lunar samhain, the transformation moon when we enter the portal of smahain with the veils so thin for the next couple of weeks…

what a perfect moment to plant seeds that will blossom and grace the new path… the moment to look inside deeply and ignite every wild cell into luminous light… and a perfect moment for dancing in the void…
~
Each day has a moment of eternity waiting for you.
Each day has a portal, a threshold, a liminal moment in which everything could open up and reveal itself to the eye that can see.
~ William Blake ~
~
such a day it is in the land of portals as we approach the dark time of the turning… the moment when the eye sees better and the veils are thin, eternity is nearby, revelation is at hand… nothing to hold onto, simply be open to what is in this moment, the only moment, the eternal now…

may we all face the darkness in reverence bringing us to greater presence…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 296 – 10/8/2019

“Surrender to this light, this Divine consciousness, this Divine joy,
and this Divine peace, the victory of Love and the glory of life.
Allow and bring this light into the whole body, the conscious mind,
the subconscious, and unconscious mind. Through this Love
you’ll experience the fullness of life. ~ Sai Maa
~
welcome tothis sacred day of celebrating the light as Victory Day in the Hindu Navaratri (Nine Nights) Festivalt and as Day of At-One-Ment, Yom Kippur culminating the Jewish high holy days of awe, also a time of deep reflection and practice…
~
today invites our celebrating transformation and the victory of  divine light, divine love, divine feminine creative energies activating and spreading throughout the cosmos…
~
A million suns are ablaze with light,
The sea of blue spreads in the sky,
The fever of life is stilled, and all stains are washed away; when I sit in the midst of that world.
Hark to the unstruck bells and drums! Take your delight in love!
Rains pour down without water, and the rivers are streams of light.
One Love it is that pervades the whole world…
~ Kabir ~
~
may we bathe in the illuminated radiance of love that lights up every imaginal cell of being in the unified field of consciousness…
~
every outbreath, an emptying… every inbreath, a re-membering…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 259 – 9/1/2019

welcome to soaring september and the astonishing light of your being weekly segment…. i’m breaking tradition – yes, Yes, YES! – to not start the month in the usual way and to listen to the fierce love message to see the beauty in everything that emphatically calls to be expressed…

so, yes, Yes, YES! You Are So Beautiful!! Take this moment, this beautiful moment to breathe in your beauty and breathe it out with an exuberant YES!

today, i celebrate six years of living Hell YES! when something arises and i’m resonating wholeheartedly,

hearing/feeling/sensing in every wild cell Hell YES!, i go for it full steam ahead… this practice grew organically from a practice begun almost eight years ago of saying thank you to everything that arises… of course there are many things that confound my mind as to why be thankful for that which is the beauty of the practice and is like contemplating a koan… it is a tried and true path for opening the heart this saying thank you, this saying yes, Yes, YES! Hell YES!

breathing in, feel something positive… breathing out, say yes… breathing in energy, breathing out yes… breathing in peace… breathing out yes…

may we whisper yes, Yes, YES with every breath…

listen with me now to what the inimitable Charlie Chaplin heard singing him on his 70th birthday…

Love Prayer
As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering
are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY”.
As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody
as I try to force my desires on this person,
even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it,
and even though this person was me.
Today I call it “RESPECT”.
As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life,
and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it “MATURITY”.
As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance,
I am in the right place at the right time,
and everything happens at the exactly right moment.
So I could be calm.
Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE”.
As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time,
and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness,
things I love to do and that make my heart cheer,
and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm.
Today I call it “SIMPLICITY”.
As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything
that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations,
and everything the drew me down and away from myself.
At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism.
Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF”.
As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right,
and ever since I was wrong less of the time.
Today I discovered that is “MODESTY”.
As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past
and worry about the future.
Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING is happening.
Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT”.
As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me
and it can make me sick.
But As I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally.
Today I call this connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART”.
~
may we all walk in a sacred way today and every day with each breath a new beginning, each moment a walk in beauty with all our relatives traveling as one along the rainbow trail deeper into great mystery’s sacred web…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 242 – 8/15/2019

this image visits me frequently… in dreams, in waking moments, especially on a day such as this, a day of stopping and seeing inside, of staying unplugged and savoring this moment, this beautiful moment while sauntering along the rainbow trail, the path with heart, the pilgrimage of the soul, the pathless path…

the peace pilgrimage, the pathless path of soul takes courage, a heart letting go completely to soften into the call of the beloved trusting that in this surrender, the cosm, the cosmos will have our back…
~
“A true vocation requires shedding anything that would impede or obscure the call. A true pilgrimage requires letting go of the very things most people try to hold onto. In seeking after what the soul desires we become pilgrims with no home but the path the soul would have us follow.”
~ Michael Meade ~
~
rapidly, i’m approaching the two year anniversary of being called into the lion’s roar, into awakening, into the deepest initiation adventure of this incarnation, two turns around the sun of arriving, of  coming home into the present moment, the true self wholeheartedly with all the trillions and trillions of wild cells humming, embodying the frequency of soul…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 205 – 7/9/2019

how i love this this seventh month of joyous july as 7 is such a number of spirit and vibrates at a frequency of receptivity, intuition, divine feminine… energies that pull us magnetically inside to mine the jewels lodged in deep cavernous space in the ground of being… i love at the halfway mark of the year recapitulating journeying january, the dreaming moon,  with july being the re-treating ourselves moon, another space of pregnant pause to explore inner terrain and listen for the voice of the great mother whispering words of wisdom, mothering the peace that passeth ordinary understanding, the peace that births a courageous new world of harmony…

perhaps you are feeling as i am today, a little wobbly, a little off kilter, a little ungrounded… a perfect moment to come together and SMILE (Start My Internal Love Engine), take a few deep breaths into our belly and reach out our hands to one another passing the love we are from one to another to another to another and with each passing of the peace, our voltage is raised exponentially so that we see and feel the beauty we are….

behind us, before us, below us, above us, surrounding us, within us… simply, beautiful blessing with every breath…

thank you for pausing in the center together…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 168 – 6/2/2019

sauntering in an awakened way today back to the garden feeling in every wild cell we are stardust and golden tuned into cosmic hum and attuning to soul song – such a lovely frequency this sounding/resounding of birdsong inspiring the courage to show up wholeheartedly for  the path with heart, to sing the soul song, in this moment of celebrating our astonishing light beingness…

being rippling circles of love is a dance of grace where we are joined by beautiful souls also choosing to walk in this sacred way – how i love being in this moment with you…
~
thousandfold thanks for blessing this day with gifts, lessons, loving awareness and friends…
may our energy flow be a blessing to all co-hearts on the path…
may we be centered and open facing each moment with lovingkindness and compassion…
may we honor and reverence this moment, this life…
~
i’re-member that this day in the cycles of life is jelling the real-eye-sing in a deeper way the interconnection of all that is as well as the day, two years ago, that the usa pulled out of the paris accords… behind tears is still the seed of hope that this disastrous decision pulls us together into meaningful contemplation, dialogue and  action… under the tears always, is the river of joy always flowing and watering the earth of our being, our beautiful island home… let me close this day of returning to the garden by breathing in her beauty and breathing out re-joy-sing…

In Praise of the Earth

Let us bless
The imagination of the Earth.
That knew early the patience
To harness the mind of time,
Waited for the seas to warm,
Ready to welcome the emergence
Of things dreaming of voyaging
Among the stillness of land.

And how light knew to nurse
The growth until the face of the Earth
Brightened beneath a vision of color.

When the ages of ice came
And sealed the Earth inside
An endless coma of cold,
The heart of the Earth held hope,
Storing fragments of memory,
Ready for the return of the sun.

Let us thank the Earth
That offers ground for home
And holds our feet firm
To walk in space open
To infinite galaxies.

Let us salute the silence
And certainty of mountains:
Their sublime stillness,
Their dream-filled hearts.

The wonder of a garden
Trusting the first warmth of spring
Until its black infinity of cells
Becomes charged with dream;
Then the silent, slow nurture
Of the seed’s self, coaxing it
To trust the act of death.

The humility of the Earth
That transfigures all
That has fallen
Of outlived growth.

The kindness of the Earth,
Opening to receive
Our worn forms
Into the final stillness.

Let us ask forgiveness of the Earth
For all our sins against her:
For our violence and poisonings
Of her beauty.

Let us remember within us
The ancient clay,
Holding the memory of seasons,
The passion of the wind,
The fluency of water,
The warmth of fire,
The quiver-touch of the sun
And shadowed sureness of the moon.

That we may awaken,
To live to the full
The dream of the Earth
Who chose us to emerge
And incarnate its hidden night
In mind, spirit, and light.

~ John O’Donohue ~

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 167 – 6/1/2019

welcome to jelling in an awakened way on the path of liberation june where we move even more deeply into the sacred space of wholehearted open spaciousness… grounded in and connected to the stillness in the core of being, dynamically present and open to the fluid present moment, to what is, feeling the deep peace and joy of the running wave dissolving us into the atmosphere, rebirthing us, jelling us into the new beginning that’s been unfolding since the beginning…

it’s taking quite a while for this jelling, this coming together in a new way and it feels so right for it to be happening in june, the marrying moon named for   Juno who was known as the goddess of love, marriage and childbirth and the new moon will draw down in another few hours…

Searching for the Dharma

You’ve traveled up ten thousand steps in search of the Dharma.
So many long days in the archives, copying, copying.
The gravity of the Tang and the profundity of the Sung
make heavy baggage.
Here! I’ve picked you a bunch of wildflowers.
Their meaning is the same
but they’re much easier to carry.
~ Xu Yun ~
~
yes, here’s to walking each other home lightly, hand in hand with the eyes of a mother greeting her precious newborn wondrously…
