Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 69 – 2/23/2020

welcome, welcome to day 25 of a season of peace on this twenty-third day of the flowering field of february and what a trifecta of riches it is with today also being the astonishing light of your being day and losar, the tibetan new year day and one of my favorite moments in the cycle of life when we rest in the in between times moon, the rainbow moon who sings a song of transformation, of transmuting dark, threatening clouds of pain, into rainbow colored arcs of joy… poised here in the portal of the pisces new moon, may we all leap as one, letting go to flow with oceanic imagination in the field of rainbow mystery where only love is real and everything is possible… feel the great turning upon and within us supporting us to let go of fear and anchor in truth, wisdom and love as we swim in these mystical waters of pisces together…

for this special day, let us beam our attention on facing our mortality and the opportunity we each get to intend how we live… when Dr. Oliver Sacks learned he had only months remaining, he chose to live in the deepest, richest, most productive way he could real-eye-sing he is ocean. in his own words before he died:

~

Over the last few days, I have been able to see my life as from a great altitude, as a sort of landscape, and with a deepening sense of the connection of all its parts. This does not mean I am finished with life.

On the contrary, I feel intensely alive, and I want and hope in the time that remains to deepen my friendships, to say farewell to those I love, to write more, to travel if I have the strength, to achieve new levels of understanding and insight.I feel a sudden clear focus and perspective. There is no time for anything inessential. I must focus on myself, my work and my friends. I shall no longer look at “NewsHour” every night. I shall no longer pay any attention to politics or arguments about global warming.

This is not indifference but detachment — I still care deeply about the Middle East, about global warming, about growing inequality, but these are no longer my business; they belong to the future. I rejoice when I meet gifted young people — even the one who biopsied and diagnosed my metastases. I feel the future is in good hands.

I have been increasingly conscious, for the last 10 years or so, of deaths among my contemporaries. My generation is on the way out, and each death I have felt as an abruption, a tearing away of part of myself. There will be no one like us when we are gone, but then there is no one like anyone else, ever. When people die, they cannot be replaced. They leave holes that cannot be filled, for it is the fate — the genetic and neural fate — of every human being to be a unique individual, to find his own path, to live his own life, to die his own death.

I cannot pretend I am without fear. But my predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved; I have been given much and I have given something in return; I have read and traveled and thought and written. I have had an intercourse with the world, the special intercourse of writers and readers.

Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and adventure.

may we all open our hearts and leap into the unknown diving deeply into the imaginal depths to find the treasure, the pearl of great price, to surrender to love is the secret of eternal life…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 68 – 2/22/2020

welcome, welcome to day 24 of a season of peace on this twenty-second day of flowering field february which vibrates at 22222, quintessential grace and it’s one more beautiful day of gathering the quintessence as ambassadors of love and light with the sun shining on the energy of  freedom in dreamy pisces while the moon wanes into beautiful blackness… even with all the turbulence in the outer world, today i’m so being sung in every cell the soul song of our graceful free and easy wanderer true nature which moves me to the familiar tale of hamsa or humso, the beautiful swan embodying grace while chanting so hum, i am that… light and love…

once upon a time, little swan was resting in a pool in dreamtime… she looked up and saw a swirling black hole, the biggest one ever… in that moment, dragonfly appeared in the sky and swan inquired about the black hole to which dragonfly told her it is the doorway to the great beyond and to enter you must ask permission and earn the right…

little swan wasn’t sure she wanted to enter the black hole so she asked dragonfly what’s necessary to cross the portal and dragonfly told her she must accept whatever comes just as it is presenced without editing one iota of great spirit’s design…

little swan looked down at her ugly duckling body and replied that she’d graciously accept great spirit’s design and would not resist the currents of the black hole… she affirmed she would surrender to divine flow trusting in the present moment… her answer pleased dragonfly who began to spin a spell of magic engulfing little swan in a whirlpool in the center of the pond…

when swan reappeared days later, she was transformed into a beautiful being of grace… dragonfly was shocked and wanted to know what had happened to which swan replied that she learned how to surrender to the power of great mystery, to surrender to the grace of the rhythm of the universe…

may we all let go and undam flow opening into the great beyond’spathless path of illumination and the flowering field of gracious synchronisiddhis…

so hum…

Happy 62nd Birthday, Peace Symbol!

welcome, welcome to day 23 of a season of peace on this twenty-first day of flowering field february and the sixty-second birthday of the peace symbol… and, it’s one more beautiful day of gathering the quintessence as ambassadors of love and light with the sun shining on the energy of  freedom… on a somber note, it is the fifty-fifth anniversary of Malcolm X’s assassination…

now, back to the peace sign…

“Children of today easily identify it. They may not know its original meaning, but they know it stands for good things – be nice to friends, be kind to animals, no fighting. This is a marvelous achievement for Gerald Holtom’s simple design. Peoples around the world have marched with it, worn it, displayed it during combat, held it high on banners, and been arrested in its name. Ask any man, woman or child, ‘What one thing would everyone in the world want more than anything else?’ The answer would surely be world peace.’”

Ken Kolsbun, Peace: The Biography of a Symbol

on this day of walking into the unknown through a field of  impermanence, a day when peace is so called for, it is a beautiful synchrony that it’s the re-birthday of peace…

Gerald Holtom, an artist and conscientious objector, created the Peace Symbol on February 21,1958. According to Christopher Driver, author of The Disarmers: A Study in Protest, Holtom created the design and then brought it to an organizer of a local British peace group. After several revisions, it was unveiled publicly on Good Friday of that year, by anti-nuclear demonstrators — the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) — who marched 50 miles from London’s Trafalgar Square to the weapons factory at Aldermaston. It was the first Ban-the-Bomb March.

When Gerald Holtom sat down at his drawing board sixty-two years ago, he was in almost total despair. He later told the editor of Peace News: ‘I was in despair. Deep despair. I drew myself: the representative of an individual in despair, with hands palm outstretched outwards and downwards in the manner of Goya’s peasant before the firing squad. I formalized the drawing into a line and put a circle round it symbolizing Earth.”

Welcome “International Peace Symbol Day.”  May we hoist peace everywhere waving the remedy for despair…  Peace Out!

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 66 – 2/20/2020

welcome, welcome to day 22 of a season of peace, on this 20th day of flowering field february in the year 2020 so that we have a day pulsing at the frequency of 2222, a day of grace, wisdom, clarity and a day also known as world social justice day – may it be so, may we roll up our sleeves, come home to our heart and in thought, word and deed be in balance with all our relatives… and, it’s another beautiful day of gathering the quintessence as ambassadors of love and light who vaya con gaia en paz with the sun shining through the clouds on the liberating energy of  freedom…

i have arrived, i am home in the eternal now, this present moment… to live simply and wholeheartedly as a willow tree who offers her branches freely as resting space for great mystery to breathe us sacredly…

here, in this home of flow, this openhearted place of welcome, perch and listen for the hum, vibrational tune of whispering wind, spirit waves of spiraling notes… singing of love and devotion across the many splendored vast wild ocean of ever changing being… always different, always the same…

in this place of deep repose, hear waters falling home, singing of a secret joy deep within, always present in the moment, listen to source and attune to the music of the spheres, haunting melody animating all, cosmic harmony ringing out a call…

in this moment, our one heart’s a tree providing belonging space for you, for me to sing our soul song of mystery… many voices, one frequency… multiversed universiddhi…  shanti, shanti, shantihi…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 65 – 2/19/2020

welcome to day 21 of a season of peace, a day i need to dive so deeply into the earth and sky and ocean of our creative cosmic being to be the peace and love we are in our core while in this moment of ebb tide re-membering birth is often messy and painful as we let go of what no longer serves to revolve into a more sustainable way…

on this day in 1942, the usa decided to arrest and imprison all citizens of Japanese ancestry with as little as 1/16  percentage of Japanese ancestry – including orphaned infants – were subject to mass incarceration with over 130,000 Japanese Americans – many full citizens and the children of citizens – were forcibly relocated from their West Coast homes during the spring of 1942 and jailed for up to three years without a trial…

on this day of peace and re-membrance, i dig deep singing psalm 15 again and again…

who can be trusted with power,
and who may act in your place?
Those with a passion for justice,
who speak the truth from their hearts;
who have let go of selfish interests
and grown beyond their own lives;
who see the wretched as their family
and the poor as their flesh and blood.

They alone are impartial
and worthy of the people’s trust.

Their compassion lights up the whole earth,
and their kindness endures forever.

breathing in peace and compassion, join with me in being the world we all want. for me, it is a world of peace and harmony and wisdom and generosity built on justice and balance guided by love and compassion surrendered into great mystery

~

as we come alive in this wild moment

dreaming a new world on the way,

let us breathe in deeply our dreams coming full circle

as dancing stars give birth today

dreaming a new world on the way,

we hear her whispering down under the sea

as dancing stars give birth today

creating sacred space for flowing beauty

we hear her whispering down under the sea,

now is the moment for the dream to fully be

creating sacred space for flowing beauty

from our one heart soaring into rainbow mystery

as we come alive in this wild moment,

let us breathe in deeply our dreams coming full circle

now is the moment for the dream to fully be

from our one heart soaring into rainbow mystery

Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy… they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us….

~ Harper Lee ~

welcome, welcome to day 20 of a season of peace and another beautiful day of gathering the quintessence as ambassadors of love and light with the sun shining through the clouds on the energy of  rapture

four years ago on this very date, i learned of the unexpected death of the mockingbird whisperer, Nellie Harper Lee, author of one of my favorite books since childhood; today, let us offer metta, lovingkindness for all mockingbird whisperers singing us home…

may we all feel the pure innocence and love of  mockingbird in this moment and live as simply and wholeheartedly as freespirit, as mockingbird…

in this moment, we are mockingbird re-joy-singer visiting the divine inner child, the wise one who knows she’s here to sing, to sing her soul song of joy in a field of peace seeded with justice and guided by love…

thousandfold thanks for our being this deepening re-joy-sing journey of coming home to our one cosmic heart…

i share this intention and take it as a vow seeing all our relations joining in living this way…

welcome, welcome to day 19 of a season of peace,  another beautiful day of gathering the quintessence as ambassadors of love and light with the sun shining through the clouds on the energy of  rapture/rupture…

in the USA, today is Presidents Day and my contemplation turns to leadership and how critical it is now, in this cycle of he great turning, for leadership to be infused with love and compassion…

Psalms 15 sings this contemplation beautifully…

who can be trusted with power,
and who may act in your place?
Those with a passion for justice,
who speak the truth from their hearts;
who have let go of selfish interests
and grown beyond their own lives;
who see the wretched as their family
and the poor as their flesh and blood.
They alone are impartial
and worthy of the people’s trust.

Their compassion lights up the whole earth,
and their kindness endures forever.

may we all embrace leading our lives from the most powerful energy there is, the energy of love and compassion…

welcome, welcome to day 17 of a season of peace, another beautiful day of gathering the quintessence as ambassadors of love and light with the sun shining through the clouds on the energy of  rapture/rupture…

perhaps it’s that today is the ides of this moon that draws my attention to the chaos/cosm of the outer world and my intention to be peace and healing in these pivotal times… yesterday, the second year anniversary of the Parkland massacre, today’s year anniversary of a declaration of a state of emergency in the USA and today many of us meditating together for the loss of lives in China and across the planet and on and on… as we hear through the ethers of so much chaos abounding across the planet calling us to listen deeply, to bear witness intimately being ever so patient with what’s riotously germinating in the core, what’s emerging out of the collective, i turn to a poet, another pilgrim on the journey who so beautifully amplifies the message of coming home to the heart and waiting for right action to organically arise out of  patiently bearing witness…

~

Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given to you because you would not be able to live them. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.

– Rainer Maria Rilke –

~

Letters To A Young Poetby Rainer Maria Rilke is an extraordinary book of ten letters written to a young man of nineteen years about to enter the German military named Franz Kappus who wrote Rilke looking for guidance and a critique of some of his poems. Rilke was himself only 27 when the first letter was written. The resulting five year correspondence is a virtual owner’s manual on what it is to be an artist and a person. Since we are all poets, pilgrims on a journey, it seems poetic justice to share the wisdom here and now for us to apply to the metaphor of our own lives…

~

“You ask whether your verses are any good… You have asked others before this. You send them to magazines. You compare them with other poems, and you are upset when certain editors reject your work. Now (since you have said you want my advice) I beg you to stop doing that sort of thing. You are looking outside, and that is what you should most avoid right now. No one can advise or help you – no one. There is only one thing you should do. Go into yourself. Find out the reason that commands you to write; see whether it has spread its roots into the very depths of your heart; confess to yourself whether you would have to die if you were forbidden to write. This most of all: ask yourself in the most silent hour of your night: must I write? Dig into yourself for a deep answer. And if this answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong, simple “I must”, then build your life in accordance with this necessity; your whole life, even into its humblest and most indifferent hour, must become a sign and witness to this impulse. Then come close to Nature. Then, as if no one had ever tried before, try to say what you see and feel and love and lose.”

~

may we all be peace, love, joy, harmony and patience aligned with source in co-creating the beautyfull cosmos…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 60 – 2/14/2020

Dedicated to St Valentine, Patron Saint of Pilgrims

~

every moment is valentine’s, a celebration of and surrender to love… every pilgrimage is journeying along the path with heart… every pilgrim is a poet on a journey deeper into the heart, a saunterer – a holy lander, spiraling ever more profoundly into the ground of being, the sea of love energy where…

every breath is a naming prayer

every step a walking meditation

bringing us home to our one cosmic heart, an ocean of devotion

~

dreams often inspire a flow of contemplation which inspire words and deeds… i’m in a classroom sharing with the openhearted children of the earth, sharing a heart mudra to the tune of “this little light of mine…” where you join your thumbs together for the base of the heart temple and your index fingers together for the spire which you place on your third eye to open the flow of divine light to shine through the heart as lovingkindness and compassion and then you move your hands, the heart temple of light, down to the belly, the center of being, the stillpoint, the watery womb of creation and with this movement, this simple action, our inner light, the eternal flame flows soundlessly throughout the all that is in ever widening waves, one with the tides of interbeing, the sheltering arms of the tree of life…

~

as we meet this moment fully, we are loving kindness and compassion, joy dancing in ever widening swirling and whirling circles of peace passing all understanding, one with divine matrix flow…

~

may we be filled with loving kindness

may we be well

may we be peaceful and at ease

may we be happy
